Welcome to JJJ, where dedication meets expertise. Founded in 2024 by two driven partners, we are committed to delivering exceptional legal services tailored to your needs.
The partners, Jonathan and JJ, had known each other since their student days when pursuing law degree at the INTI International University in Malaysia and Cardiff University in the United Kingdom. Upon completing their studies, Jonathan and JJ have set foot in 2 different cities (Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru) to commence their legal careers at the local reputable law firms. Having practised over the years in different areas of law, they have decided to join hands and establish JJJ in Johor Bahru today.

Lawyers
Jonathan’s journey in law commenced with his admission to the Bar of England and Wales at The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple in 2016 and his admission as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 21 October 2017.
Jonathan has practised at Messrs. Dason Raj & Partners in the early years of his career. He then worked in one of the biggest housing developer companies in Malaysia before setting up Messrs Jon & JJ Chong Law Chambers with JJ. His experience encompasses providing advice from both legal and commercial perspectives. He has handled a broad spectrum of legal matters, ranging from commercial contracts to construction, employment and corporate affairs. He has also represented clients in various Courts of Malaya and arbitration proceedings.
Jonathan is recognized as an accredited civil and commercial mediator of the UK ADR Group.

Initially completed his Bar Professional Training Course at BPP Birmingham and called to the Bar of England and Wales at The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple in 2016, JJ has completed his pupillage in Messrs Lee & Tengku Azrina and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 8 October 2017.
He then continued to practise for 7 years at Messrs Lee & Tengku Azrina before setting up Messrs Jon & JJ Chong Law Chambers with Jonathan. He has vast experience in representing banks, financial institutions, developers and corporations, and in advising them on financing documentation, land transactions and corporate and commercial matters respectively. He is also often sought to advise clients in relation to construction agreements.
